Our 9:00 service happens each Sunday morning and brings with it more of a blended style of worship, complete with a choir and orchestra.
From the Discipleship Pastor Search Team:
Our Discipleship Pastor will oversee all the groups in our church where the Bible is taught, and recruit new teachers and leaders. He will assist our members in discovering their unique spiritual gifts and seeing opportunities to implement those gifts in the life of our church. Through leading our discipleship program, he will help us see the Gospel as the lens through which we should view the culture around us and the standard by which we should live our lives.
Our Discipleship Pastor is going to be a vital part of our staff and the ministry of Brookwood Baptist Church, both inside and outside of the church.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be posting more information helping you get to know Scott and his family.
God intends to be worshiped. Worship is the result of salvation. It is a life lived to ascribe to God who He is and what He is worth. Worship is the moment by moment expression of God’s glory and His praise through the believer’s obedience to God and love for others. Worship is the believer treasuring God over all the treasures of the world. We worship with God’s people when we gather. We worship with creation as we live and breathe to make much of our Creator. (Romans 12:1-2)
God created every person with a need for authentic community that is built on the love of Christ which compels us to care for each other (2 Corinthians 5:14). And we believe every person has something to give and something to receive inside the family of God. So our goal is to create real environments of encouragement and challenge for the purpose of seeing the members of the family of God living by the Bible and following the Spirit’s leadership.
God makes it clear that His purposes do not end in us, but with the Good News reaching all people (Genesis 12:2, Matthew 24:14, Acts 1:8). We do this through His power, by His Grace, and with the focus on the story of Jesus Christ. His love and forgiveness radiate through us as we seek to meet the needs of others, help the cause of the oppressed, and ultimately love everyone we encounter (John 13:34, Luke 6:31).
