COVID-19 Updates

Click here for the latest information and updates from the Louisiana Department of Health.

The health and safety of Brookwood members, guests and neighbors is our main concern. Our staff is closely monitoring the situation, and we will adhere to any recommendations made by the CDC and local health officials regarding public gatherings. The coronavirus situation is going to be fluid for a period of time.  As the information unfolds, we will make a weekly assessment and determination of what activities will be able to resume.  We will update this page to communicate information regarding Brookwood events.

What changes have been made to the upcoming schedule?

Until further notice, we have decided to suspend all scheduled on-campus Brookwood events, including Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services in order to minimize the risk of illness and protect those who are entrusted to us.

Will The Well Coffee Shop be affected?

The Well will be closed until further notice.

Will there be a sermon this Sunday?

YES!  We will livestream a message from Pastor David to our Facebook page and on our website at 10:30 AM Sunday morning.  You will be able to view it on Facebook afterwards as well.

Why have services been canceled?

Out of an abundance of caution, our leadership team believes it is the wisest course of action at this time. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and adhere to the recommendations of the CDC and local health officials. When we decide it is safe to resume our services and other events, we will communicate that to you. For the latest information on COVID-19, visit the CDC’s website. We will be updating this page with the latest updates regarding the Brookwood church family.

How should I respond to COVID-19?

Though situations like these can stir up fear and anxiety, God is sovereign over all things, and our ultimate hope is found in Jesus. Although we won’t be gathering for services and events, we encourage you to stay connected to the church body through calls, texts, and online engagement. Pray for those affected by this virus as we wait for Christ to return and bring about a day without sickness, suffering, and death.

To minimize the risk of illness, here are a few practical things you can do to love your neighbor:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
