    WMU Meeting

    -Heart to Heart Associational Meeting

    It will be a time to learn about each other’s WMU fellowship.
    Mission Project: Bring 5-6 oz paper cups, paper towels, paper plates (not Styrofoam) and boxes of tissue for the Cypress Resort Ministry.


    Jambalaya Fundraiser

    Purchase a ticket for some of Kevin Parker's jambalaya to help raise money for Camp KidJam. Tickets are $5 and on sale now at the table in the gathering area. Jambalaya will be served Feb. 14-15 after each service.

    KRMD Radio Show

    Catch Bro. Mark's weekly radio show, every Sunday morning, 7am–9am, on KRMD 101.1.


    Renovate Vote

    During the worship services on February 14-15, we will vote on the Building Committee's recommendation to approve the Renovate plans as presented in the worship services of January 17-18, 2009 and multiple conferences for discussion on both January 25 and January 31. These plans include:

    • Renovations to Rm 321
    • Renovations to the Zone
    • Upgrades to the Preschool playground
    • Renovations to the Gathering Area and creation of a fellowship/café space
    • Installation of a messaging sign along the east property line
    • Installation of an on-site storage building
    • Installation of a screening fence at the dumpster
    • Upgrades to Worship Center audio, video and lighting systems

    Members will also be asked to approve up to $126,000 in total fees to be paid out of funds on hand to architects, media consultants and fund raising advisors for work on design and construction documents and planning for raising needed funds.

    In the near future, we will discuss and vote on a separate recommendation concerning funding and construction contracts.


    The Hub Ministries Street Church

    Date: Saturday, February 14
    Time: 3:00-5:00pm
    Street Church is an outreach to the street population of our inner city. It consists of a church service, preaching, worship and a meal following. Involve your LifeGroup by volunteering to serve the meal, attend the service, and worship together. Email the Hub for additional details and to sign up.


    Winter Clothing Drive

    Join the Brookwood Student Ministry in meeting the needs of the less fortunate. We need your help to collect warm clothing items such as scarves, gloves, blankets, coats, and socks. The items will be given to the Hub Ministries, an organization that meets the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless and needy members of our community. Donate items in collection bins located around the church. We will collect items until February 15. On February 18, the high school students will partner with the Hub to serve a meal to the homeless and distribute the items collected. Students will leave Brookwood at 5:30pm and return at 7:30pm.


    Mexico Mission Trip

    Date: June 27-July 4, 2009
    Location: Cordoba, Mexico
    Ministry: Mobile medical clinics, childrens crafts/games, witnessing
    Cost of Trip: $400 plus airfare
    Registration Deadline: February 22, 2009
    Registration Deposit: $100

    Celebrate Recovery

    Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program for helping people overcome their hurts, habits and hang-ups, using 8 principles based on the Beatitudes of the New Testament and 12 biblical steps to recovery. Leaders have been meeting for several weeks now in preparation for our launch on February 26. If you are interested in Celebrate Recovery, please register for it so you will receive information about our first meeting.


    Drama Festival

    Date: February 27-28, 2009
    Location: Martin Performing Arts Center, Louisiana College, Pineville, LA
    Cost: $45 by Feb. 9\$55 at the door (No refunds after Feb. 9)
    Registration: Register online with a credit card at www.lbc.org/DRAMA (A modest processing fee will be added.) Registration Forms can be picked up on the missions table at BBC also.

    For individuals or groups who are interested in learning how to minister through the performing arts or those who want to learn more in their areas of interest. Featuring Wesley Brainard, Mime; Tim and Amanda Cowles, Ventriloquists, Puppeteers, & Illusionists; and Witness, LA College Drama Group. Seminars include Ventriloquism, Illusions, Clowning, Puppets, Dramas and more.
