Weekday Preschool Open House
Feb. 2, 9am-1pm, Preschool Suite
We will begin taking applications for the Fall 2009 school year. The preschool has programs for ages
2, 3, and 4.
Camp KidJam

$250 if deposit of $50 made before Jan. 30.
$260 if deposit of $50 on or after Jan. 30.

Student Life Camp will take place June 26-July 1 in Cleveland, TN. Disregard the flyer that states
the location is Orange Beach.

Renovate
After more than a year of study by the staff, trustees, and building committee, the building committee
requests your prayer as we consider renovations necessary to update our existing facilities to meet the
ministry programming needs of our kids' ministry, worship ministry and gathering areas. Visit the website
to listen to the recommendations and
see personal testimonies. Then plan
to attend the series of conferences where each area will be talked about in more detail. Conferences will
take place on Sunday, January 25, and Saturday, January 31. View conference schedules.

North Keithville Volunteer Needs
North Keithville needs volunteers to work on Sunday mornings with the preschool and children. North Keithville
Baptist Church is a Brookwood sponsored mission. They really need our help for a short time. For more information

Financial Peace University
Financial Peace University is a 13-week, video-based small group study that teaches families how to beat debt,
build wealth, and give like never before. For more information about the study or to sign up, attend the
free preview session on February 4, at 6:30pm in Room 213. The preview is free, but we would like
for you to sign-up here so we have enough seating and can be prepared to take care of your children.
Classes will begin Wednesday, February 18, 6:15pm and will meet weekly. Cost is $99 per family.

Open Position
Brookwood has an opening for a full-time Ministry Assistant (secretary). Experience with MS Word and Excel is
necessary. We prefer experience with Photoshop and InDesign. Information packets with applications
are available at the Information Center or in the church office.

Johannesburg Testimony
I was sitting in a boat in Arkansas having just finished my prayer time when I got a message from
Jeff German. “I am going to South Africa over the Christmas holiday to lead worship for the missionaries
there. I would like for you to go and help if you feel led.”
At first I thought, good for Jeff, not my gig. However, over the next few weeks God simply conveyed to me
through my Bible study that I should go. The negatives ran through my mind. I would have to leave my three
girls and my wife during the holiday. I would have to tell my boss I was leaving the country – to do what,
for how long, where? Jeff could handle it. Someone would go to help. Did he really need me? I am just a singer.
It won’t really matter if I don’t go. It is Christmas. I have a Home Depot to run, a family to take care of,
toys to put together – this is crazy. God knows me. He knows what all I have to do. He will understand if I do
not choose to serve. I am glad that is OVER.
It was not over.
