on Dec. 6-7.

30 Hour Famine
We had a great time serving the Lord and serving others during 30 Hour Famine this past weekend.
We had 80 students and 45 adults participate this year, and everyone did a great job loving God and
loving people. We did service projects throughout the Shreveport area starting Saturday morning partnering
with The Hub serving lunch and preparing food for hundreds of the homeless downtown. We did some painting
at Gospel Light, we raked and bagged two yards for our homebound members, and we made 47 blankets that were
delivered to LSU Medical Center NICU. We also went door to door collecting food items that were
donated to the Shreveport Rescue Mission along with 50 bags containing toiletry items and an encouraging
note/scripture verse (John 6:35) that were prepared by our students. We also did some cleaning around the
church along with planting flowers. Pictures of Famine events will soon be posted at brookwoodstudent.com.
Besides raising awareness for world hunger, our students also raised money. This year our goal was $10,500. The
students with the help of our Lord and you, the church, raised over $11,000. Our student ministry is so blessed
to have such a loving church family that loves and supports missions. WE THANK YOU!
Our student ministry left everyone with a challenge…continue to make a difference…and James 1:22 – “Do something!”

is necessary. We prefer experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and accounts payable. Information packets with

Case For Christ For Kids
Through this series, kids will learn about standing up for their faith in an unbelieving world.
Kevin and Cheryl Parker, Rosalyn Milliken, and Bruce Hennigan will lead the sessions. Fourth and
fifth graders only with 10 kids per session. Cost is $30 due by November 30. Sessions will take place in the Zone
from 4:00pm-6:30pm on December 7, January 4, and February 1. Email
