  • Operation Encouragement

I work in a secure Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and there were approximately 7 boxes delivered here today. I can't speak for the rest of the company but I bet there are care packages from Brookwood Baptist Church all over Taji by now. Thank ya'll so much for thinking about us. Thank you and God bless.

    30 Hour Famine

Our student ministry will be doing an event called the 30 Hour Famine, Nov. 22-23. We need adult volunteers and donations.

    Fall Carnival: This Weekend

Thank you to everyone who signed up to help with this year's Fall Carnival taking place this Saturday, October 25, 2:30pm-5:30pm. You are helping Brookwood share God's love with the families in the surrounding community. This event always draws hundreds of people that may never have been to Brookwood before. This is an opportunity to live out our mission statement - to guide everyone we meet to a life centered in Christ.

It's not too late to help. We are still in need of baked goods for the Cookie Walk and candy. You can drop off donations at the Information Center all day Friday and early Saturday.

    Church Under The Bridge

Church Under The Bridge is a new outreach event specifically designed for the homeless population in Shreveport. It is a monthly outdoor church service that will provide a meal, fellowship, resources, and relationships for the homeless that attend. It is a church wide opportunity for all ages.

Brookwood is teaming with The Hub to put on this event. As a volunteer, you will help set up the event, prepare the meal, serve the meal, pass out resources, and attend the church service with those who come. It is going to be an amazingly unique way to minister to the homeless here in Shreveport and show them the love of Christ. Through these simple actions, we believe that the gospel will be spread and lives changed.

Once a month can change a person's eternity. And we are excited for you to be a part on Saturday, November 1, 11:00am-2:00pm. Email The Hub to sign up or for more information.

    Ethiopia Report

We had the privilege of getting to know 5 missionary families and 4 journey men while in Ethiopia. We were able to see how they were ministering to the people of Ethiopia and hear their plans for the future. Our missionaries there have to “fly under the radar” and basically do humanitarian aid types of ministries in order to win a hearing with individuals and to get into homes to share the gospel. They are doing agricultural projects with goats, developing relationships through sports, working with medical personnel, teaching English and other classes at the Educational Resource Center, and seeking out other avenues of touching people’s lives so that they can share the message of Jesus Christ with them.
