Training will be based on LifeWay’s Discover Triad – scripture, stories, & shepherding. Charlie Wilson,
pastor of FBC Sunnyvale, TX will be the keynote speaker. He was the church’s minister of education in 1990
with less than 150 in LifeGroups. He became the pastor several years ago and now has 3000 in weekly attendance.

World Changers
A special thanks to all who contributed to helping with World Changers. Various LifeGroups pitched in by sponsoring meals
and making donations to this group while they were working in the area.

Challenge Week Banners
This week, students have been discovering the eikon or image intended for their lives. Each of
the twelve groups is named after one of Jesus' disciples. One of the Challenge Week challenges is for each
group to create a banner showing how their disciple lived a life in the image of Jesus and how their group
can do the same. The winners of the banner challenge are the Disciples of Philip! Here is what the students had to
say about their banner.

Promotion
Momentum will promote on August 10 and Velocity on August 13.
Children will promote August 16-17. Parents will be able to attend an orientation session to prepare for the promotion.
The sessions take place August 9, 4:45-5:15; August 10, 9:45-10:15; and August 10, 10:45-11:15. All sessions take place
in Room 213.
Preschoolers will promote August 16-17. However, not all preschoolers will be ready to promote at this time due
to age and stage of development. Please refer to your check-in receipt on that weekend for room assignment.

Case for Christ Series for Kids
Through this series kids will learn about standing up for their faith in an unbelieving world.
Kevin and Cheryl Parker, Rosalyn Milliken, and Bruce Hennigan will lead the sessions. Fourth and
fifth graders only with 10 kids per session. Cost is $30. Sessions will take place in the Zone from 4:00pm-6:30pm.
Session I: Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2 - Payment due Aug. 31
Session II: Dec. 7, Jan. 4, Feb. 1 - Payment due Nov. 30
Session III: Mar. 1, Apr. 5, May 3 - Payment due Feb. 28

Get Connected
LifeGroups (small groups) are the lifeblood of Brookwood. As the church grows larger, we must continue to grow
smaller through LifeGroups. Brookwood's LifeGroups are primarily grouped based on gender and marital status.
These adult small groups create opportunities for adults to:
- participate in personalized Bible study
- connect with adults like themselves
- be cared for and care for others
- invite their friends to Bible study
Most of Brookwood's LifeGroups meet in homes in the community during the week. Some groups for Senior Adults
meet on Sunday morning at 8:00am and 10:45am. These groups go to worship at 9:15am.
